Objectives and Scope Virtual Manufacturing broadly refers to the modeling of manufacturing systems and components with effective use of audio-visual and/or other sensory features to simulate or design alternatives for an actual manufacturing environment mainly through effective use of computers. The motivation is to enhance our ability to predict potential problems and inefficiencies in product functionality and manufacturability before real manufacturing occurs. Papers are solicited on, but not limited to the following topics:
